“Flower Bed” by Patrick Cruz is the first public art installation of many to come at Georgetown. Drawing inspiration from Patrick’s first encounter with Surrey, Flower Bed is as vibrant as the city itself. By integrating BC’s local flora, Patrick has created a nod to the land Surrey stands on and pays respect to the First Nations peoples who call the beautiful natural landscape home, while merging and overlapping these flowers represents the cultural diversity that embodies the city.
